Summary

OmniVault stores all data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers.

What data OmniVault accesses

OmniVault reads conversation titles and message content from the following websites when you visit them:

• chatgpt.com (ChatGPT by OpenAI)
• claude.ai (Claude by Anthropic)
• gemini.google.com (Gemini by Google)
• grok.com (Grok by xAI)

This data is used solely to index and back up your conversations for your personal use.

Where your data is stored

All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB:

• Conversation titles, URLs, and metadata
• Full message content (when backed up)
• Search index data

No data is transmitted to any external server. OmniVault does not have a backend, does not make network requests to our servers, and does not use analytics or tracking of any kind.

Data sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party. Period.

Smart Search

The optional Smart Search feature uses Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano AI model, which runs entirely on your device. No search queries or conversation data leave your browser when using this feature.

Payments

If you upgrade to OmniVault Pro, payment processing is handled by Stripe through ExtensionPay. Stripe receives your payment information (name, email, card details). We do not have access to your full card details. Your conversation data is never shared with Stripe or ExtensionPay.

Data deletion

You can delete all OmniVault data at any time by:

• Removing the extension from Chrome (chrome://extensions)
• Clearing your browser's IndexedDB data for the extension

Uninstalling the extension permanently removes all indexed conversations, backed-up messages, and settings.

Permissions explained

• storage — Save your indexed conversations and settings locally
• sidePanel — Display the OmniVault search and backup interface
• scripting — Run content scripts on AI chat websites to read conversation data
• Host permissions (chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, grok.com) — Required to access conversation data on these specific sites

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
